This Privacy Policy explains how e-Gate AI ("e-Gate", "we") collects, uses, discloses and protects your information when you use our website, dashboard and API (the "Service"). 1. Information we collect
Account data: when you register, we collect your full name, email address, phone number and a hashed (one-way encrypted) password. We never store plain-text passwords. Usage data: when you call the API, we record the model used, token counts (prompt and completion), request timestamps, cost and response status. This data is necessary to operate the Service, calculate charges and prevent abuse. Payment data: payment records (amount, provider reference, timestamps) are retained for accounting purposes. We do not store your full card number or bank account details.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to: provide, maintain and improve the Service; authenticate you and secure your account; calculate and collect charges; prevent fraud, abuse and policy violations; respond to your support requests; and comply with legal obligations. We may send service-related notices (for example, payment confirmations and account alerts) to your registered email address. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. API content and AI processing
Prompts and model outputs ("API Content") are processed to generate responses. API Content is forwarded to the third-party model provider that serves the model you call, and is subject to that provider's own privacy and data handling policies. We strongly recommend that you do not submit sensitive personal information, medical data, legal documents or financial records through the API. We do not use API Content to train our own models, and we do not use it for marketing or advertising. API Content may be retained for a limited time solely for abuse detection and legal compliance.
4. Cookies and sessions
We use a secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. The cookie expires after seven (7) days of inactivity and is never used for advertising, tracking or cross-site profiling. You can clear it at any time by signing out. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
5. How we share information
We share your information only in the following circumstances: (a) with service providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, model providers, payment processors), under strict confidentiality obligations; (b) when required by law, court order or public authority; (c) to protect the rights, safety or property of e-Gate, our users or the public; or (d) with your explicit consent. We never sell personal information to third parties.
6. Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords, per-session authentication tokens, encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access-controlled servers. API keys are displayed in full only once at creation. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. In the event of a suspected data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
7. Data retention
We retain account data while your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards. Usage logs are retained for up to ninety (90) days. Payment and billing records are kept for the period required by applicable accounting and tax laws. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us; personal data is then removed within a reasonable period, while records we are legally required to keep are retained in accordance with the law.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. You may also export your wallet and usage history from the dashboard. Where applicable law grants additional rights (for example, data portability or the right to object to processing), we will honour them to the extent required by law.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of sixteen (16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-party links and services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, model provider documentation and payment gateways. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content or security of those third-party services. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing any information.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you by email where required by law. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
